News from Biff

Hi

Just got back from Japan

The shows in Spain with Priest were fantastic. Great audience and good to meet them again and Motörhead. Shows in Tokyo were special. First band there after earthquake so they said great atmosphere and we spent some time at the meet and greet . We are announcing further shows soon which will make this tour the longest for many years I think. It will be around 150 days since March all around the world. I am working on setting more charity meet and greets will be talking to the promoters when dates get confirmed. So off for a well earned rest and a curry, next show Poland and then holidays.

Keep the faith

Biff byford

P.S.: Some people are talking of reunions. I can tell you all now while ever ex members are living in the past and pretending to be in Saxon at every opportunity there will be no reunion. As I have said before: we allowed them to use Oliver Dawson Saxon so they could earn money but they are not allowed to do anything else. I know all of you do not like the fact that they can use this name but if they cross the line too far we will enforce our high court injunction. After all we did allow them to appear on the heavy metal thunder live DVD which was done for the fans as it should be. Saxon are on a fantastic journey at the moment and we have a great legacy of music but that includes all our music not just parts of it.

I have just been looking through all the threads on here, I have to say I am not the biggest SAXON fan in the world but like some of the songs they do & I hope as a British band they carry on supporting the flag. It would be nice if they got more air play on the radio instead of the brain was factor. I do have to say though reading the rift between Saxon & ODS, in my eyes its all apart of the SAXON story & does add some drama to the situation.

Saxon are great, the classic line up was great and the current are even better. Saxon dont need a reunion, a reunion could damage saxon if the guys dont get on!!! but rock on saxon!!

i'd love to see a reunion with the classic line-up, including pete gill obiviously. Of course saxon are still a great band but they never have been reaching the same high levels of the first years. Also, even if Nigel is clearly a great drummer, i've always preferred Pete's drumming

Biff, Paul and Nigel are all members from what I consider the classic line-up. And I think the "new" members Nibbs and Doug have been in the band longer than Dawson ever was. I don't think Oliver or Dawson need the Saxon name to succeed. In fact, I think it hinders them. Just imagine what a farce it would have been if Dave Mustaine called his band "Dave Mustaine's Metallica" instead of Megadeth. By charting his own course, Dave started a fantastic band, and left the door open to be reconciled with his former band-mates, which has now happened--benefitting everyone.

To be honest, I don't see any "slagging" in the P.S. from Biff. I simply see him dispelling rumours of a possible reunion. He doesn't seem happy that former band members attempted to use the same name for a different band, but that I think is very understandable. I think Graham and Steve are good musicians, but I'd prefer if they came up with a distinct name for their band. Then I'd listen to both. Take a lesson from Megadeth and Metallica. Megadeth is a great band in its own right, and even more popular now that an old feud has been settled. All parties seem to have changed and matured, both bands are successful. There is no confusion for the fans, because the bands have different names.
Couldn't agree more with you Bob. They should never have messed with the name and misled the fans. I actually bought "Victim You", they have sadly alienated thier potential fanbase by misleading them. Long live the real (Biffs) Saxon!!!!!

Graham, get off the computer and try to write some decent songs, your band might play to more than 30 people if you do.

haha, ya, whatever.... check the IP address this post was made from.... not even on that side of the planet!

Well I am no computer expert but I think since I am not an admin for this site I can't do that, but don't change the fact that you are a troll.

Man, i'm sick of Biff always slaggin of Graham and Steve. Biff's a control freak, always has been. And when Biff got busted for that stupid live at donnington 80 sale thing, he pinned it on graham and abandoned graham with a smoke screen of bullsh!t to "replace" him in the band, and also cleverly edited the recent documentary dvd to make it look like graham betrayed the band. Such crap. Shame on you biff. i'd almost put that crap to the back of my head and was gonna come see your show in (an unnamed city).. but no thanks, i'll pass now. too bad, i used to idolize you.
