Saxon cancelling Metal Open Air!

Saxon is sad to announce that they have to cancel the performance at Metal Open Air in Sao Luis Brazil due to a serious breach of contract by the promoters. Having waited since march the 15th for the fee to arrive as of Friday 2pm no money has arrived.

No explanation has been given and Saxon feel being treated with little respect. We left in the situation today and the band with their bags packed and ready to leave but it is impossible to travel all the way with at least some of the fee!

We are really sorry for all our fans there but we are sure that you all can understand that people have to working in a professional way and fulfil their contractual obligations! We are trying to come back to Brazil next year on our world tour and do a special show for the people in that area.

Terible news, Saxon and Venom and now other bands not playing, I was worried wen I saw 'CK Concerts' making this show, he is promoter called Christian Kramer and a big problem always, but not from Brazil, he is Colombian. All band should NEVER work wit him.

you are correct, this is a professional matter and must be treated as such, the organizers failed to respect the band and unfortunately the public is who pays. you are right not to attend, first of all it is your job and nobody works for free. But do not take hasty conclusions, what happened was the fault of amateurs who can not work and has no respect for professionals.

Please, don't judge all brazilian people because of these promoters. We all love Saxon, we have suported you through all these years and we always will. If I were you I'd sue promoters for selling tickets using Saxon's name. I myself would be there on sunday only because of you. It is time to give disrespect an end.

It's a shame what Metal Open Air organizers are doing and news are nothing good, reports on the Brazilian press show that the situation is chaotic in the festival site and many other bands have already calcelled their participation. I give my support to Saxon and all the bands cancelling their participations. Sorry guys for such disrespectful treatment you received for those managers.
