Great news, Motorhead gig cancelled on 23rd after Preston gig shelved for a support slot.
Serves you right after insulting your loyal fans.

I think it's terrible that this gig has been cancelled without even offering to re-schedule it. Like many people, I'm out of pocket with a hotel booking, and I am extremely disappointed to see the date now being a Motorhead support slot. I think the least Saxon could do is to certainly play Preston in the near future. Gutted.

Sorry but it sucks you blew out Preston for yet another Motorhead support slot - was it bad ticket sales or just logistics? Blah blah.
Whatever it was it wasn't abour Saxon fans insulting & terminally unhappy at best

I think it sucks how this gig has been cancelled,it was certainly not cancelled because of low ticket sales.
It was cancelled so they could play before Motorhead in Glasgow for two nights.
Probably not the bands fault, but whoever has come up with this plan are a bunch of tossers,no wonder they have always been in Maidens and even Motorheads shadows.

Like Gaz, I to live in Preston & agree 53 is a spot on venue. After a lot of years not gigging I got hooked again last time Saxon toured with Motorhead, since then i'v been all over watching all the big & little guns, highlight being Saxon last April At Manchester Ritz. At least I to will get to see Saxon with Motorhead in Manchester. It would have been brill to see them in my back yard again last time was Preston Guild hall in the 80's. I feel sorry for all those who have booked fights & hotels ETC. Hope Saxon can fit Preston in some time

Extremly dissapointed about the cancelled Preston gig. Have had a refund, but not for the full amount paid.
What makes it worse is that now the news section has added an extra gig in Glasgow with Moterhead on the night of the previously arranged Preston gig.
Did the Preston gig not sell enough tickets and so it was decided to cancel it?
I won't be rushing to buy tickets for future gigs.

Really disappointed, was looking forward to this. Great little venue and we don't get that many great's in Preston these days. Luck I'm going to Manchester to see them with Motorhead. Hope they can come to Preston again sometime.

Can we get more information? The ticket price is the least of the expense. Flights, hotel, train etc., all adds up. Got burnt for the Hatfield gig too but could understand that if a band member can’t perform and had no problem suffering the financial loss for that. What conflict arose that superseded a previous commitment this time? I presume it must be some contractual issue with Motorhead as I see Saxon are billed as support to them on the night of the cancelled Preston show. Really disappointed on this. I’m not looking to cause hassle, just to get clarity. I chose this show over 2 others, Rotting Christ in Dublin on Nov 3rd and Xentrix in Dublin on Dec 7th as I could only afford one and Saxon were always going to be my choice. Could still head to Preston as everything is paid up for but no point. I’d even a baby sitter sorted for the 2 days, can cancel that at least. Really disappointed.
