Ronnie Dio has lost his battle.
Today I heard my friend Ronnie Dio has lost his battle, it is a great loss to us all. I first met Ronnie in the early eighties when we played with Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, the infamous black and blue tour.
I first heard him sing on butterfly ball and from that moment I understood what great singing was all about, he was at the top of his game from then on. His voice was always powerful and soaring his phrasing was uniquely his, copied by many but never bettered. I will miss him as we all will. The last time we met was in Finland last year, both bands stranded in an airport with flight delays what do you do, go to the bar get drunk and tell rock and roll stories, he told great stories. Deepest condolences to his family.
Somewhere in the night a candle burns for you.

Just wanted to drop you all a line to say how impressed the band and management of Saxon are on the forum members organisation of your ST Georges Day charity concert in aid of “Help for Heroes”.
We are happy to support and endorse this project and hope our contribution of tickets, t-shirts & Cd’s help in some way to you reaching your fund raising goal.
The band have also recently been contacted by Vera who is an old friend of the SAXON camp and her son JJ has got bone-marrow cancer, it would be great if you could highlight this charity at your event and if you run another event please bear this charity in mind?

Sadly we are forced to announce that Nibbs won’t be able to join us on the upcoming tour!
Due to health problems of his wife we all decided that it will be the best for all if he stays with his wife and Family to make sure that she will get well soon.
We still want to do the tour and looking really forward to meeting all the Saxon fans out there - it wouldn't be fair to you to postpone the tour again.
Gladly our friend Yenz Leonhardt (Kingdom Come, Lacrimosa etc.) will jump in for this part of the tour and try to replace Nibbs part as best he can, although Nibbs is irreplaceable to us.
Thanks for your understanding and keep on rockin’.

Just a quick blog. We have been working on the Heavy Metal Thunder album this week and we’ve decided to include a short film of download 2008. We feel this was such an important event in our recent career that it has to be included. This means the release to those of you who have pre ordered it there will be a delay for a while. After all it’s all about quality not quantity. After seeing all of the DVD last night I think you will love it, so don’t blame Coolhead. It’s my fault wanting to give you the best documentary that we possibly can.
On another matter we have just finished rehearsing for the tour and we will be playing Requiem We Will Remember in memory of our good friend Mick Cox guitarist for Rose Tattoo who went on to the other side recently.
